Are DOLVÉA™ products safe to use?
DOLVÉA™ products are thoughtfully handcrafted using premium ingredients selected for quality and performance. Our candles feature a plant-based wax blend and wooden wicks, while our room sprays and reed diffusers are crafted using premium, alcohol-free bases.
Our suppliers identify these bases as VOC-free. Each finished product also contains carefully selected fragrance oils.

Candles
How long do your candles burn?
Our 8 oz candles offer approximately 40 hours of burn time, while our 4 oz Discovery Candles offer approximately 20 hours. Burn times may vary depending on fragrance, burning conditions, and proper candle care.
What kind of wicks do you use?
At DOLVÉA™, we exclusively use wooden wicks, thoughtfully selected to complement each candle. Some offer a gentle, soothing crackle, while others provide a soft, whisper-quiet flame. Each creates its own beautiful ambiance.
Why isn’t my candle burning evenly?
For best results, allow your candle to burn long enough for the melted wax to approach the edges of the vessel, typically within 2–3 hours during the first burn. This helps prevent tunneling and promotes a more even burn.
Keep your wooden wick trimmed to approximately ⅛ inch before each burn.
Candle Safety Reminder: Never burn your candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Always burn within sight, away from drafts, flammable materials, children, and pets. Discontinue use when approximately ½ inch of wax remains at the bottom of the vessel.
Why does the wax change color after burning?
Our candles are made with a clean-burning soy wax blend and richly concentrated fragrance oils, free of unnecessary additives. Because we don’t use artificial stabilizers or bleach our wax for a perfect look, your candle may develop slight color changes near the wick after burning.
This is completely normal and simply a result of natural ingredients interacting with heat. It does not affect the scent throw or burn quality in any way.
🌿 Room + Linen Sprays
Are DOLVÉA™ Room + Linen Sprays safe to use?
Our sprays are crafted using a premium, water-based, alcohol-free base that our supplier identifies as VOC-free. Carefully blended with fragrance oils, our sprays are designed for use in the air and on suitable household fabrics. Always spot-test on an inconspicuous area before use, especially on darker or delicate fabrics.
Why are my floors slippery after spraying?
Because our sprays are alcohol-free and water-based, they evaporate more slowly than traditional alcohol-based sprays. For best results, mist onto linens, curtains, or upholstery after spot testing and avoid heavy spraying directly onto floors.
What does VOC-free mean?
VOCs (Volatile Organic Compounds) are chemicals that evaporate into the air and can contribute to indoor pollution. Our room spray base is identified by our supplier as VOC-free, making it a thoughtfully selected ingredient in our home fragrance products.
Can I use sprays on my skin?
While our spray base is considered skin-safe by the supplier, DOLVÉA™ Room + Linen Sprays are formulated specifically for home fragrance use and are not intended for application to the skin. Enjoy them as a room and linen fragrance only.
How long do DOLVÉA™ Room Sprays last?
Our luxury room sprays are designed to enhance your space with beautiful, balanced fragrance without overpowering it.
- In the air: Scent lingers for 2 to 4 hours, depending on room size and airflow.
- On fabrics: Lightly misted on soft surfaces like curtains or bedding, fragrance may last up to 24–48 hours. Always patch test first.
- Shelf life: Best used within 12–18 months. Store in a cool, dry place.

Are DOLVÉA™ diffusers safe to use?
DOLVÉA™ reed diffusers are crafted with a premium, alcohol-free, phthalate-free diffuser base designed to provide continuous fragrance throughout your space. Our diffusers offer a flameless fragrance experience when used as directed. Always follow the recommended care and safety instructions.
How long do diffusers last?
Our 100 mL reed diffusers are designed to provide long-lasting fragrance. In our own testing, some have lasted 6–12 months, depending on the fragrance, placement, room temperature, and airflow. Individual results may vary.
How do I get the best performance?
For the best fragrance experience, place your diffuser on a stable, protected surface away from direct sunlight, heat, and strong drafts.
Flip the reeds as needed to refresh the fragrance. Our fiber reeds are designed for consistent fragrance diffusion and generally require less frequent flipping than traditional rattan reeds.
Over time, reeds may become clogged or lose their ability to diffuse fragrance effectively. Replacing them with fresh reeds can help restore performance.
Are diffusers safe around pets and children?
Keep reed diffusers out of reach of children and pets. Fragrance oils may be harmful if swallowed or spilled. Always place diffusers on a stable, protected surface and prevent children and pets from accessing the fragrance liquid or reeds.
How strong are your scents?
DOLVÉA™ reed diffusers are designed to provide a continuous, subtle fragrance experience. Scent intensity varies depending on the fragrance blend, room size, airflow, and number of reeds used.
For a stronger fragrance experience, try adding more reeds or placing your diffuser in a smaller space.
Do you use essential oils in your fragrances?
DOLVÉA™ uses premium-quality fragrance oils crafted with carefully selected aromatic ingredients, which may include naturally derived essences and essential oils. Each fragrance is thoughtfully blended to create a distinctive, luxurious scent experience.
Understanding Natural vs. Synthetic Fragrances
There's a common misconception that natural fragrances are always safer than synthetic alternatives. In reality, both natural and synthetic fragrance ingredients can contain allergens or cause sensitivities.
Essential oils are derived from natural sources, but they still contain chemical compounds, including volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Synthetic fragrance ingredients are developed to create or replicate specific scent characteristics and are not inherently harmful simply because they are synthetic.
What matters most is the specific ingredients, their concentrations, and how the finished product is used.
